Green Python

The Green Python ' Chondropython Viridis'.

despite the name, baby Green Pythons can be almost yellow in colour when they are born.

They don't turn green until they are 6-8 months old.

Their hanging pattern may be in the form of a Banana-Shape disguise.

They are endangered due to hunting for skins and meat as well as habitat destruction.

Oh man, my dad would love this picture (I like it too, just in case you're wondering).
He jokes about getting a green tree python as a pet.
I have always thought that they were one of the most gorgeously colored snakes in the world of snakes. You did a beautiful job of capturing just how beautiful they are.

Wonderful capture of this threatened reptile.

I can just imagine that it would be barely visible as it sits coiled around the branches of a rainforest tree. Its beautiful electric hue of vivid greenness, a superb camouflage whilst high up in the canopy. :)
